hug and kiss your child, you help her know she is worthy of love and respect from other children and adults in her class.

solve a conflict calmly with your child, you help him learn that he can resolve conflicts peacefully with his classmates.

allow your child to make her own decisions, you help her learn to be an independent thinker at school.

set limits for your child, you help her learn to reach her potential within the limits set by the preschool teachers.

follow through consistently with consequences at home, you allow your child to understand and accept the classroom rules and consequences at school.

you require your child to complete his chores, you help him understand the need for him to accept his responsibilities in the classroom.

As your child's first teacher, every day you are providing the foundations for formal school learning for him or her.
